Consumer law firms that handle auto fraud in California are popular because California has some of the strongest consumer protection laws in the United States, particularly when it comes to automotive-related issues. For example, California has a robust Consumer Legal Remedies Act (CLRA) and Lemon Law (the Song-Beverly Warranty Act) that provides strong protections for consumers who have claims of misrepresentation or for those who purchased or leased a new or used vehicles that turns out to be defective.

Most importantly, both California consumer laws mentioned above also carry attorneys fees for the prevailing party. Meaning, if the consumer sues the car dealership and wins the case, they are entitled to their attorneys fees and costs, which in many cases can be in the tens of thousands of dollars, if not more. There are many examples of consumers (and their attorneys) being awarded upwards of $100,000 in attorneys fees and costs as a result of these types of cases.

Given the strong legal protections available to consumers in California, it's not surprising that law firms that specialize in auto fraud and related issues have become popular.
